About the artist
Sharon Moon was born in Pennsylvania, but considers herself a native Floridian after living in the state for 45 years, raising her three daughters here and enjoying her eight grandchildren and one great grandson in the St. Augustine area. After 35 years as a successful tax accountant, Sharon recently returned to her art and her passion for painting, attracted by the ease of application and brilliant colors of acrylic media.
I have been painting for more than 40 years. Starting out as a hobby and evolving into learning techniques from a private art teacher.
I'm fascinated with Peter Max's work. His blending of colors is amazing and the most fascinating museum was the Gaudi's home and Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
My husband, George and I have acquired a modest collection of art by local artists, including Beau Redmond and Wendy Tatter, along with pieces by Marc Clauzade, Romero Britto and Peter Max. These paintings are my inspiration, along with art by the great masters I’ve been privileged to see in many of the world’s finest museums during our travels. "
'My painting is an attempt to bring to my canvases some of the fabulous places and images I’ve seen in my life for others to share and enjoy.”
